The initial idea of organizing a conference is motivated by the belief that this conference will facilitate the international cooperation of political science students. During the conference, political science students are able to meet each other, to exchange ideas, to learn about each others cultural background and to broaden their international network. Furthermore the conference is a good opportunity to strengthen the relationship between the national study associations and IAPSS. The conference will therefore enhance cross-cultural cooperation among political science students.  

The AC-GA is a yearly organized conference. During this conference an Academic Conference and the General Assembly of IAPSS will take place. At the AC-GA of IAPSS in Leiden we will host more than 150 political science students from all over the world: Europe, South and North America, Africa and Asia. Our activities will take place at multiple locations in the beautiful Dutch cities Leiden and The Hague.  

To assure the high academic quality of the conference, we will invite prominent academics, governmental organizations, international organizations and other relevant lecturers to compose a coherent academic program. The three subthemes provide the basis for the lectures and workshops of the Academic Conference. We will make sure that there are a couple of workshops organized by potential future employers. In order to promote exchange and internship opportunities, we will organize a Fair of Opportunities and an International Evening, where the participating countries can present their country and university.  

Next to the academic conference, a social program will be organized to stimulate informal contacts between students and to enhance their informal cultural learning. We will take you around the beautiful historical Dutch city Leiden and we will organize a traditional ball. Besides this, every day will be concluded with dinners and drinks. The AC-GA provides therefore an excellent opportunity to deepen your academic knowledge, to meet new people from different backgrounds and to enjoy a fantastic stay in Leiden, the Netherlands.
